About Enzo Amato
Italian photographer Enzo Amato graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma from the Institute of Applied Arts in Naples in 1987. He went on to teach practical design at the Institute years whilst simultaneously working as a freelance photographer. It was here that he learned about restoration and developed his interest and practical skills in photography. In 1994 he moved to London where he worked as an art conservator at Westminster Abbey for 2 years as Project Assistant. In London he furthered his studies at the University College of London in photography and documentation of antique monuments and artefacts. He also completed studies at Islington College in black & white photographic composition. He relocated to Australia in 1996 where he works as a commercial photographer with such clients as Marie Claire Japan, Indesign Magazine Australia, Air New Zealand and Newspaper Business NSW.
Amato has always kept a photographic portfolio of personal art projects, which focus primarily on the documentation of street art and street artists. He has previously exhibited his personal work in London in 1995 at Islington Central Library and most recently exhibited his latest series The Cuba Street Art Project at Ambush Gallery in October, 2016, , and in Los Angeles in January 2017 as part of Month of Photography Los Angeles with Standard Vision.
Amato lives and works in Sydney, Australia.
